CREASES!

Dear oh dear! Gail, look how you're treating the known world's favourite white pleated skirt!

In need of some TLC!

The picture below was taken on holiday at the seaside. I think it was sitting on rocks that creased up the back of Gail's skirt! The sun and wind conspire to give us a good view!

The wind blowing the skirt really shows up those creases!

How much abuse can that poor skirt take?

knot nice!

Takes up less wardrobe hanging space!

Gail's blue pleated skirt.

This skirt is made from a polyester viscose mix, which makes it warmer and softer. Unfortunately, it is not as resistant as 100%polyester or 55%polyester/45%wool mix, neither does it hold it's pleats as well. This is why full-circle sunray pleated skirts are rarely made from this mix, and why, if you find one, it is to be avoided. (Imagine repleating that lot!)

Creased skirt hangs sadly  Creased skirt

You can see how the pleats jostle to be able to hang open. It is need of repleating. Doing this properly is a time-consuming job!

Lots of creases!

Gail doesn't even like this one! You can tell by the way she just slings the poor creased skirt over the chair!

(I'm sure Gail wouldn't mind me sharing this little nugget with you all!)

"I have a couple more pix for you S. took last weekend at a very posh bash - wore tatty wps as nothing else suitable.... One other ps there was what looked like a white just-above-the-knee tennis skirt which creased as badly as any skirt I have ever seen - thank goodness she couldn't see it!!! His lordship took some crafty pix of it - surprise surprise... actually we exchanged a few words about our apparel though I knew her not... she said she liked my skirt and that it was a bit like hers only longer???? strange.... THEN she said "well yours is not really a pleated skirt is it as the pleats are quite flat at the top and particularly around the b*m (her word quote) and are therefore little more than a pattern in the material (???!!!) She clearly has never seen a skirt like mine before. Heathen! As I say - if she had seen the state of HER pleated skirt she would have eaten her words. FYI (if you are interested in skirt stuff???!!) I watched her sitting down and she was very experienced at s l o w l y lowering herself into the seat thus managing to trap and crumple the skirt under her - the next time she got up would reveal just how successful this was.... stupid girl!"

Relatively uncreased More creases later on. Poor little skirt!

"Later on in the evening when we had some dancing to a small band she came over and remarked how she loved the way pleated skirts flared out when dancing... - then she once again remarked that it looked just like a very full skirt and had I had the pleats pressed in.... No further comment necessary. I have to admit that her little skirt did flare well on the dance floor - no pix... S. had too much to drink by then :)"

Am I interested in skirt stuff.....!
